Hiring a bit

We offer a bit hire service for most of the branded bits, including Sprenger, Myler, Neue Schule and Peewee. If the option to hire does not appear on the product listing, then that particular bit is not available for hire at this time.

How to hire a bit
Just select the Hire option from the menu when offered the choice of buy or hire. You then purchase the item as you would any other item from our site, but have the option to return the bit after trying it for 14 days (starting from the day after you sign for the parcel and finishing on the day you send the parcel back to us) for a refund less the hire charge. If you wish to keep the bit for longer, you may do so at a weekly rate of half the initial hire cost (if you eventually decide to keep the bit you will still have no hire cost to pay however many weeks you have retained it). #

How bit hiring works
When hiring a bit, you initially pay the full cost of the bit, and we will send you either a new bit ( 75% of the time) or a previously hired bit if there is one available (please note we are not able to accept requests for new bits to be sent in preference of hire bits, if a hire bit is available it will be sent). You are then able to use the bit for 14 days (starting from the day after you sign for the parcel and finishing on the day you send the parcel back to us). At any time during this period, you can decide to:

• Buy the bit
  If you have been sent a new bit, simply keep it- there is no need to let us know as you have already paid for it. If you have been sent a hire bit, return it to us with the hire form sent out with each hired bit (we recommend a recorded method of delivery and this part is at your cost) with the section ticked to indicate you want a new bit and we will send a new replacement bit out carriage free.
• Return the bit
  You will be refunded the price of the bit less the hire charge of £10 (for bits valued up to £100), or £15 (for bits valued over £100). If you return the bit after 14 days, a further £5/ £7.50 hire charge per additional week will also be deducted from your refund.
  

Please note: The bit must be returned in reasonable condition. Fair wear and tear is obviously acceptable, but broken or damaged bits will not be refunded.

Hire charges for bits:
If you return the bit as unsuitable within 14 days and you paid under £100 for the bit, you will be refunded the cost of the bit less £10.

If you return the bit as unsuitable within 14 days and you paid over £100 for the bit, you will be refunded the cost of the bit less £15.
